Season After Pentecost - Week 6 - T

God loves the world, and as a loving God, He helps and provides for both the righteous and the unrighteous. But His general care for people is a far cry from the blessing of being in a personal relationship that leads to everlasting salvation and glory.  Paul reminds us that in the sufferings of Christ, all sufferings are overcome—not by our efforts or fortitude, but by and through Christ alone, who has suffered for us, endured the cross and its shame, and risen to declare the ultimate victory won. This gift is available to all who hear the Gospel and is not to be taken for granted.  In our Gospel lesson, Jesus healed all 10 lepers physically, but only one also received the blessing of saving faith. May we give thanks that God blesses us in every way, now and forever.
