1st Sunday After Christmas - C

Bulletin Blurb: Christmas Day may have passed, but it is still very much the Christmas season. Christmas music is still on the radio, the decorations are still up, and joy is still in the air. Which makes our reading from Matthew all the more troubling. Jesus has been born, but now the whole family has to flee to Egypt because Herod is doing something truly evil and Jesus is in danger. In the time of celebrating our Lord’s birth, we now also lament Herod’s Massacre. How can we navigate this confusing mix of joy and lament, both in this season and throughout our lives?
