Pentecost 6 - 2023

Have you ever wondered why Christians continue to struggle with sin? Or, on the other hand, are you concerned that if you struggle with sin, that you might not really be a Christian?  St. Paul addresses this in Romans 7 where he says, “I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” Sin is not “okay”, it is a terrible brokenness in our relationship with God, but when the Spirit leads us in repentance, and even while we may still struggle, this side of heaven, there is a new life of forgiveness for us in Christ!
