Vicar Josh's last Sunday - Season After Pentecost - Week 7

Our church is named after Saint Stephen, who we hear about today in Acts 6 and 7. St. Stephen was full of grace and power, even as he went before an irate Jewish council, even as he preached to them God’s Law, even as he was cast out of the city and stoned. Yet, this grace and power did not come from Stephen. In his life and his death, Stephen looked continually to our Lord Jesus Christ for grace and power which comes from Him alone. And still today, in our life and in our death, we look to Christ to receive His grace and His power. What a great reminder and witness of faith in Christ, every time we hear the name–St. Stephen.
