Ash Wednesday
From the very beginning, the hands of the Lord have been at work. With His hands, He formed the heavens and the earth, shaping humanity from the dust and breathing life into us. Throughout history, His hands have guided, protected, healed, and saved. Yet, in our sin, we have misused our hands, grasping for power, turning away from God, and even delivering Christ into the hands of sinners. But in His great mercy, Jesus stretched out His hands to heal the sick, bless the broken, and ultimately to be pierced for our salvation. His crucified and risen hands now hold us securely, and no one can snatch us from them (John 10:28). As we begin this Lenten journey, we remember that from dust we were formed, and to dust we shall return—but the hand of the Lord remains upon us, shaping, redeeming, and preparing us for that Day when He makes all things new.
