Paul boldly declares, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel.” Why? Because he already knows the outcome of the game–no upset, surprise, or last-second loss. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, the championship over sin, death, and the devil has already been won. Through faith we share in that victory! Just as devoted fans celebrate their team’s triumph, believers celebrate what Christ has done for them. Because the outcome is already secured through the cross and resurrection, we live with bold confidence, proclaiming the Gospel without shame.
