Good Friday 2023

Apr 7, 2023    Vicar Peter

The Lord God promised Abraham that all nations would be blessed through his descendants. When He commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac, he obeyed, trusting in the Lord’s promise. Yet Isaac did not die because the Lord provided an alternative sacrifice. This Good Friday, we journey to the Place of the Promise, we arrive at the cross where the only Son of God, Jesus Christ, is willingly sacrificed in our place, taking our guilt and shame upon Himself so that we might receive forgiveness and everlasting life. Jesus is the fulfillment of all God’s promises, the Son who is offered up on the Mountain of Sacrifice.
