“Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” With these words, Isaiah 35 promises not temporary happiness but eternal joy for God’s people. In Christ, these promises are already breaking into our world—and into our lives. Advent joy is rooted not in what we feel but in what God has done and will do in Jesus. Today, we fix our eyes on Him, who drives away sorrow and crowns His redeemed with everlasting joy.
