Season After Pentecost - Week 11 - T

Aug 9, 2026    Pastor Dave

From the Word of God, we are able to have a healthy perspective on life. As Job learned: God is God - and we are not. The only way a sinful human being can dare to approach and worship an almighty God is if we also know that He is a God of mercy. God’s mighty power is known from the vastness of His creation, the stars and seas, light and darkness, tempests and storms (Job 38), yet we also learn that, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). Even if we have not seen Jesus walking on water ourselves, we can know that our Savior comes to us in our distress to rescue, redeem, and restore us because he joined us in our misery to pay for our sin and grant us life and forgiveness by the power of His resurrection.
