What is it that the Lord asks of us? What is it that He desires? He asks us to love. He desires faithfulness and mercy. And He sets the example. Our God shows us how to love. Time and time again, He shows love and mercy to His people in the Old Testament, and His love shines clearest through His Son. Jesus shows us how to love, first in His ministry to sinners and ultimately in His death and resurrection, where He secured forgiveness for our sins and the gift of eternal life for all who would believe in Him. What would it look like for us to follow our Lord's example and love the way He loves us?
